Diet Each species has a varied diet. Young or juvenile turtles will primarily eat a carnivorous diet including crustaceans, sponges, jellyfish, and small mollusks. As adults, some will primarily eat vegetarian diet. One species, the hawksbill, eats a diet of soft corals, sponges, and sea grass. Others eat a variety of crustaceans like crabs and invertebrates including shrimp, sea urchins, tunicates and jellyfish.
